Recipes - Instant Pot

Bean & Rice
Cream of w

Beans (black) and Rice (brown) (Top)

1.5 C brown rice, rinsed

1.5 C black beans, rinsed

1 can diced tomatoes with juice

2 C vegetable broth

3 C water

1 medium onion, diced

3 gloves of garlic, minced

1 tsp cumin

1/2 tsp chili powder

1/2 tsp oregano

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

1 tsp hot sauce

(Can add hamburger, carrots, corn, brocolli,

& cabbage)

​

Saute onions in oil.  Last minute add garlic

Add everything else

Cook on high pressure for 30 minutes

Let it naturally de-pressurize for 10 minutes

Eat with grated cheese or sour cream

​

Chicken Legs (lemon from frozen) (Top)

Chicken legs - frozen

Onion - diced

Garlic - 8 cloves, crushed

Lemon, fresh and sliced

Lemon juice

Italian seasonings

Salt and pepper

1+ cup of water

​

Add all ingredients together

Pressure cook on high for 25 mins

Can thicken the juice afterwards

 

Cream of Wheat (Top)

.25 C cream of wheat

1/8 tsp of salt

1 C of water

1 T butter

Raisins and blueberries

​

Put water in the main pot

Add ingredients to the inner pot

Cook for 5 minutes

Let it natural release for a few minutes

​

Crumble, Apple (Top)

Topping

1/2 C flour

1/2 C rolled oats

1/2 C brown sugar

1/2 tsp cinnamon

Dash of salt

6 T melted butter

Filling

1.5 C chopped apples

2 T melted butter

1 T lemon juice

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

1/4 C brown sugar

1/2 tsp cinnamon

Dash of salt

1 C water

 

Combine topping ingredients and refrigerate

Coat pot within pot with olive oil

Toss butter (mb), lj, ve, bs, c & salt

Add apples, mix, add water and mix again

Sprinkle topping over apple mixture

Cook on high pressure for 4 minutes

Release immediately after timer beeps

(Note, add a tsp of corn starch to dry ingredients)

Goulash (Top)

1 lb ground beef

1 large onion

3 cloves garlic

1 15- ounce cans tomato sauce

1 15- ounce cans diced tomatoes

2 tbsp Italian seasoning

(mix thyme, rosemary, oregeno, basil & savory)

3 tbsp soy sauce (or sub. worchestershire sauce)

2 cups elbow noodles

1.75 cups water

salt and pepper to taste

Saute ground beef,  garlic, salt, pepper, and onion

Add tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, soy sauce, water, and noodles

Cook at high pressure for 4 minute

Add cheese when serving

Chicken and Rice (Top)

2 T butter

1 medium onion chopped

2 carrots julienned

​

Corn niblets (small amount)

Chopped red pepper & brocolli

700 grams of skinless  boneless chicken

4 Cups of water or chicken broth

Salt and pepper to taste

2 C jasmine or basmati rice

10 cloves of garlic coarsely chopped

1/2 cup of parmesan cheese

​

Saute veggies in butter for 5 min (sep container)

Add chicken, saute another 5 minutes

Add broth to instant pot

Add chicken veggie mixture

Add rice & garlic, then stir it all well

Cook at pressure for 10 minutes

Release right away and add parmesan

​

Oatmeal and Cream of Wheat (Top)

One person:

1/8 C COW & almost 1/2 C water

1/3 C oatmeal and almost 2/3 C water

 

Two Person:

1/4 C COW & 1 C water

2/3 C oatmeal and 4/3 C water

 

Cook on high pressure 5 minutes

Steak

Oatmeal (Top)

Large flake oatmeal - 1 part

Water - 2 parts

Some raisins (sultana)

Banana, blueberry, strawberries

​

Put one cup of water in Insta-Pot

Add metal trivet

Put the stainless steel pot in the IP

Cook for 5 minutes on high

Let it sit until pressure is gone

Add milk and brown sugar

 

Pork Chops and Rice (w veggies) (Top)

1 T butter

1 onion, chopped

1 cup long-grain white rice, rinsed

1 cup water

1 tsp sea salt (skip, add salt to tasete later)

1 to 4 pork chops (try to thaw)

1/2 cup frozen peas (I used frozen edamame)

2 carrots - julienned

Assortment of veggies - mixed colors

​

Season porkchops or let them marinate

Add everything except porkchops

Mix it all together

Place the pork chop on top

Set pressure cooker for 5 minutes - 1 pork chop

Add a minute for each additional pork chop

Natural release for 15+ minutes (I did 30)

​

Red River Hot Cereal (Top)

1/4 C Red River

2/3 C water

Raisins

Blueberries or other fruit

Optional - mix with large flake oatmeal 

(would need to add more water)

​

Cook pot within a pot

Cook for 10 minutes

Natural release for as long as you want

​

Rice, Brown (Top)

Brown rice, unwashed - 1 cup

Water - 1 cup

​

Add rice and water to instapot

Cook for 15 mins on high pressure

Natural release for 5 minutes

​

Rice, White, Long Grained (Top)

Rice 1 part 

Water 1.5 parts

Wash the rice thoroughly twice!

Add water

Cook at high pressure for 5 mins

Allow natural release for 10 minutes

​

Steak (Top)

Steak

Garlic powder

Butter

Onion

Worcestershire sauce

Soya sauce

​

Mix garlic powder and butter

Put half in the insta pot

Turn to saute and cook steak 2 mins per side

Remove steak

Add one cup of water and both sauces

Add onions

Put trivet in and return the steak

Pressure cook on high for 4 minutes

Wait 5 minutes and then release the pressure

Add the remaining garlic powder and butter

Let rest for 5 minutes then remove steak

Add flour / corn starch and water

Saute until gravy is thickened

​

Slow Cooker Pork Loin (Top)

Pork Rub​

3 tsp salt

1 tsp ground black pepper

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

2 tbsp avocado (I used grapeseed) oil

​Wash and pat pork dry

Roll in a large bowl with rub ingredients

Fry 3 minutes per side

​​

Slow Cooker Liquid

½ C chicken broth

¼ C soy sauce

2 large onions coarsely cut

Place liquid & onions in slow cooker

Place the pork on top

​

Sauce To Brush On The Pork

¼ C balsamic vinegar

3 T honey

4 tsp minced garlic

2 T butter

Brush on sauce once pork is in the slow cooker

Slow cook on high for 2 hours, then med for 3+

Or cook on high for 5 hours
